Seems like when the elections is coming, people are lamenting the govt even more..
FB status on the govt seemed to be always negative..
is the govt that bad or are people being narrow-minded?

There are always a good and bad side of anything.
it seems like people tend to focus on the bad, forgetting the good..

Hmm... I don't know...
while any negative comments they made are for the people, for the country, the govt is really bad..
any positive/defending comments made by others will be seen as these people being "brain washed", are "pro-govt" etc....
Why must people have the same views as yours?
Are you being objective?

well even some opposition party members mentioned that they are not ready to take over the govt...I respect these people, at least they know their limitations...telling me that they are growing more mature...(but they have always been seen as a rational opposition party)

anything is fine, just don't vote irrational resulting in the country to be in mayhem... unstable govt = bad for the country...(as seen in latest news). change in govt does not mean things will be cheaper, tax will not be imposed (as seen in other countries)... everyone sugar-coats to gain votes... and those who win will get hated, even if they were the opposition party who ousted the ruling party.
Conclusion? Humans are nv satisfied.

suddenly, the branch from the tree fell right in front of the lady..
at that moment, i felt that she was so lucky because it narrowly missed her..

meteor shower

woke up at 3.30am to go to Changi beach to look at the meteor shower with kb..
i spotted about 10 or so..
maybe more..
two bright yellow light ones..
and the rest really looked like falling stars..
this is my first time looking at them and I am really really very happy and excited..

throughout the whole day..
when ever I feel that something is not good...
the thought of having seen the meteor shower really made my day..

it is all so surreal..
I wonder whether I am dreaming..
but I am glad I saw it..
and i am glad that I can spot so many..

i was amazed with the number of pple waiting there..
and I am glad though the spot that we chose are avoidable because of the trees..
we saw the meteor shower happening right above us!

i was having my tea with KB at borders when I saw these two girls each holding a mac carrier with the younger one saying "Mummy, we got it!~"
It was a ipod touch..

well because I was contemplating whether it was really good enough to get it because of the price and these girls just got it like that...

well as what KB has said, they are rich pple....
well ya....
but i still cannot help feeling "......"

next time I will make sure my children feel the same way I feel now..

five months ago i made a resolution that i must work hard for my final semester.
what i wrote a msg to myself and pinned in on the board in my room...

msg goes like this
" one more semester to go
study hard and aim for the As<-- 2 subjects only
*Aim A for GP
*if must fall, only till A-!!"

(for the grad studies and attachment, decided to postpone my studies so became work)

I am glad to say that i have kinda fulfill my resolution!
except for one subject with an A-.

I am really really happy, and at times i wonder whether I was dreaming...
special thanks to all my friends and family who have helped and supported me!!

I have reached for the moon!!

the freedom we get is much more as a student than as a working adult..

i think i am growing fat coz i am eating three meals a day.
need to control myself..

maybe breakfast eat coz need the energy to handle 3-6 kids with 3 other therapists..

i have to blog on the last day of 2008.. haha

a lot of things happened in 2008..

my sister got married in 2008 and it got me to see the importance of keeping in contact with family..

formalization of psych society seems to be a distance past now..
but i am glad that it happened before i graduated..
and hope that it will prosper..

GP is still ongoing..
and it too has brought in a lot of time, effort, energy, sweat and emotions..
so much so..
times i feel that GP is preventing me from studying..
then again..
i only have myself to blame for poor time management..

while doing well for one sem.. the last sem in 2008 was bad..
not very very bad..
but it seem to tell me that i have to work doubly triply hard..
i guess my whining of results can irritate many..
coz ultimately, results are said not to matter..
but then..
i cannot help it..
I will have a few resolutions in 2009, for my final semester..
to study harder...
to stop whining...
to focus on my GP..

In 2008, i am more conscious of my own behaviors and thoughts..
afraid that every step i take, and action i make will result in someone else
being unhappy, or that I will lose friendships..
when you are being conscious about your own behaviors and thoughts..
and suddenly "bombs" come flying to you...
telling you what you have been trying to prevent people from feelings such as "taking people for granted"..
it crushed you and you do not understand anything anymore...

honestly i have feared death since young...
coz i will start thinking of the things I will be missing out when I die..
the mere non-existence just scare me..
but at the last day of 2008, i suddenly felt that I have lived long enough...
don't ask me why.. hahaha

at 2008, i feel that i am getting more and more stress and upset about things..
at 2009, I hope that I can take things slower..
but at the looks of it..
a little hard..

i think i am nuts..
before results day..
i will always await for this day..
the anticipation of the results..
and when it nears..
i get nervous..
because based on performance..
i feel that I will do badly..
the feeling got worst this sem..
and i really find means and method to find signs that tell me that it will be ok..

i don't know what to do next sem..

abacus seeds~

I finally made 算盘子 on Friday with ZM~
a very tiring and tedious process
given that I put too much water, we had to wait for an hour plus before the yam
becomes paste ( I think i used up my Mother's gas.. haha!)

when it became "dough"...
the "abacus seeds" that came out from it looks weird...
and the sizes of the "abacus seeds" varies with majority of them being large
because there were just too much dough..
when cooked.. the "abacus seeds" looked funny.. doesn't look like the smooth "abacus seeds" that were sold outside...

thank goodness it looked and tasted good after frying it with the other ingredients..
the power of dried shrimps!
so cooking 算盘子 is a success thanks to zm~!!!

now i know why one small bowl of 算盘子 cost $2 plus..
there is really really a lot of work though the cost price is about $10 serving about 10 people or less...

to sleep

i feel that being able to sleep is a blessing..
i think it is nice to sleep and rest..
that is why i like to sleep early..
and wake up later if possible..
but then it is not possible coz of therapy and exercise..
so sleeping early is one thing i like..

i look forward to sleeping most of days nowadays..
coz it is the time for me to rest..
and be comfy..

hmmmm.
must be because of this sem.. where i either sleep too late or don't sleep at night because of work that let me think that to be able to sleep is a blessing..

lack of feeling on my left big toe

when i have a bad headache she asked me the same question too....

then again, i may have strained my leg during my sis wedding since i was wearing heels the whole day...

My Dearest Sis's Big Day

My dearest sis went through her customary wedding yesterday..
it was a hectic day!!!!
My dearest sis was pretty everyday but exceptionally pretty yesterday!! hee
Some of the pictures are up on facebook, uploaded them there coz her jie mei needed to do her morning day video montage.

I wonder whether everyone will go through the same thing as i did when their elder siblings get married..
the feeling of a little emptiness and loss..
and the feeling of missing them..

I know I love my sister, I know she is important to me.
but it was yesterday i realised how important she is to me.

the moment her wedding banquet ended, i was kinda in a daze..
perhaps i was tired..
but i felt kinda sad..
I miss my sister so much..
i know her being married does not mean that she is not my sister anymore..
and not that i won't see her anymore..
but i can't help being sad and miss her..
since her ROM, she has not been staying with us..
and we have not really been spending much time together..
yes i do feel sad at times..
but these feelings were not there in the past..
i don't know why it is so strong this time..

I hope that we will still be close or even closer than before..
My first 2009 resolution( a little early) is to spend more time with my sister..
I will try my very best to coordinate my time with her..

in my opinion

in any family, including the extended family...
there will always be
many gossiping aunts and/or grandmothers
who cause rumours, misunderstandings and awkwardness because of their mouths..
a relative who has some kind of bad history (drug addict, divorce, gamblers, ex convict, juvenile delinquent etc)...
not understanding children..
home skipping children...
unhappy people with the family or particular member
and many more (which i cannot think of now)

this is just to make family life interesting..
i seriously think my family (i.e EVERYONE including the extended family) is one interesting family..
the stories i hear, the actions i see..

HAHAH!
but then, i still love my family. =)

i miss the days where we come together in my late grandfather house to celebrate CNY.
those were the days and as my grandfather pass on...
CNY is different..
when my oldest grandma pass on..
CNY is never the same again..
